I was perusing different offerings as I do on occasion via the web and found a video clip from youtube regarding the Casey Anthony trial.  And here it is for reference.

I’m shocked, but I’m not shocked by the lady’s lack of knowledge of how her own computer works, or how she didn’t even understand what a browser was… I can understand that lack of understanding, but what got me was that she didn’t realize that her searches on the internet search engines were actually saved by those search engines… and that information was making it’s way into the court. And I’m also shocked about the sensless death of this child… I hope they figure out who did it and serve them a nice plate of justice.

Now, there is no real way to tell who was doing the searching without actually having a video feed with a time and date stamp, no one could really say for absolutely sure that a certain person was using the computer at that time and had done the searches. Unless you can prove that the person was the only one who had the password to log into the account (or as the lawyer stated – profile) to use the computer. Most people don’t have multiple accounts set up on their computers, therefore it’s pretty damned impossible to actually track down who was doing what, there are ways, but in general it’s a hard thing to prove.

So, just remember if you are planning anything that could get you in trouble… and you do searches trying to learn how to do that anything you have planned…. Google and the other search engines can and do save your searches.

It’s a good thing, and a bad thing… depends on your perspective.  Pissed off yet?
