I hate spam… yes, sam I am… I do hate spam.

I don’t know how long you’ve been using computers and email, I’ve been doing it for a long time. In fact email is one of my primary means of communications where I do my work. It’s great, it’s a time saver, and super effective! I really don’t know what my life would be like without email.

The praises of email be sung amoungst it’s users!! Hip Hip Hooray…. Life was good with email in the beginning; then someone thought it would be a grand idea to send out advertisements for products to email users.

(Dramatic music..) SPAM was born.

Spam just sucks. I myself NEVER buy something from an unsolicited email offer from someone whom I don’t know. NEVER. However it seems that JUST ENOUGH people order from these spammers to keep them making money, and subsequently sending out even more spam… advertising their success to the wanna-be internet millionaries, who then start their own emailing campaigns and purchase lists to send email offers to (which you and I are most likely on).. and so on, and so on, and soon… you are getting TONS of spam.

A way you can definately wind up on a SPAM SPAM HERE I AM list is by filling out an entry for a new car, vacation and so on.. you’ve seen them, in the malls, at public places.. the cars or the kiosk that is set up and you are supposed to provide some information, PLUS you email address and then they put your entry in with hundreds or thousands of other eager people to win a prize!

And then you get barraged by spam. I have an untold amount of filters for spam set up. In fact I think there are thousands of rules that my email client needs to plow through for each email I get. One day I think my email client will decided to quit and get another job, or it might take 10 minutes or so just to check for my email from the server. Really! And then, it will just continue to get worse… 11 minutes, 12 minutes.. almost enough time to take a bathroom break. SPAM just sucks.

And most importantly, just delete the SPAM, or add it to your junk mail list. To help slow down, or stop getting spam, do not, please do not reply to, or purchase anything these time devourers have to sell. If you click a link in the SPAM asking to be removed from their list, they got you! Asking to be removed from a SPAMMERS mailing list tells them that your email address is a good address, and someone is getting email at it… the SPAM will just continue, or quite possibly increase!
