Last night I was watching one of the music channels that are on most cable offerings. I’m not crazy, it’s not like watching the channel that has the weather radar up 24 by 7, it’s got interesting music… some deep cuts, and always some interesting information about the group or the solo artist.
I was half drifting off, when I heard a song called ‘you and me’. I remember it from my pre-teen year, yes, my 12th year. I remember distinctly hearing it on my am radio. I had forgoton who sang it. I looked at the TV and was FLOORED. Alice Cooper! Yes, one of his rare balads. I remember that Alice really didn’t ‘sing’ very well. But this song he actually sang, and pretty damned well if you ask me. It was beautifully orchestrated, moving and well, something I didn’t expect from go old Alice.
Funny, for me, music is the key to time travel. I hear music from the past and really go there. To that time period, the feeling, the mental state… it keys into something in me, my soul, that just gets me traveling my timelines.
Like then, a good song from my life experience today, moves me. And the kick is, I’ve got damned near all those great songs sitting on my stupid computer….
Awesome Dude.
