Ok, the more I am with my Mac Mini, the more that I am starting to fall head over heels… shame on me! I’ve been a tried and true blue PC person for years and years, more years than I can remember.

But, I used to have a love affair with Apple in the very early days.  The days prior to the Apple III (which, when I was working at a ComputerLand store in La Mesa, CA… actually caught on fire the very first time we plugged it in… after we put it out, we put it back in the box and returned it for a new smoke free unit)… Once the original Mac came out, and it wasn’t the friendly to developers like the II series was, I moved on to bigger and bluer skies.

But now, I can’t just delete the emails I get from Apple about how they have new and faster and cooler products…  I even purchased 2 gigs of memory (actually the price had gone down to about $25 per gig) for my Mac Mini… I have yet to take it apart and do the surgery, but it’s scheduled for sometime in the near future.

I’ve also been ‘sharking’ the Apple store… circling around and trying to catch a bit of that old magic from the late 70′s and early 80′s… that magic that alured me and thousands of other teens into the computer world….  I’ve caught a wiff here and there, I almost bought an upgrade of the OS for the mini, might do that soon too.

I actually forgot that the Mac OS X is Unix based, which is a REAL plus, in fact it’s based on Job’s Next Step OS.  A friend of mine had a Next Cube a long time ago, and it was the Sh*t! Really great setup, way ahead of it’s time… it became the current Mac, or at least the OS did. Just like the Lisa was the mother of the Mac. The Lisa was pretty cool too, way ahead of it’s time, and WAY too expensive.

But yeah, my Mac and I are doing some dating… and my wife’s ok with it… right honey? :)
