The year 2010 is only just started, and I’m trying to get things back in gear. Lots of interesting things have happened in the last 12 months, things that have required more focus and ability to manage.
I’ve been posting about my quest for losing computer fat, and even though I’ve not posted much recently, nor taken any more pictures, that doesn’t mean I have not been working on getting that fat out of my life. In fact I have been putting a lot of focus on it.
I have out grown my home setup, and I had to make a choice to purchase more and heavier weights to keep up with the increase of my strength. I had wanted to join a gym when I first started working out. But I had to make sure I was dedicated and I wouldn’t make excuses to not go to the gym, as I have done in the past. But I have a secret weapon this time around that has helped me greatly and that is my wife.
We had discussed the benefits to our lives and increasing longevity by getting on a work out routine. We worked out together and found that we both had a great time and really liked it. So, after three months we had outgrown our home set up and then decided to join a local gym.
The outcome for me has been a change in how my body is shaped, loss of fat, and a lot of more strength and endurance. I forgot what it was like to have lots of energy, since most of my working life I have sat in front of a comptuer, or audio mixing board.. Which doesn’t require a lot of physical energy.
The one thing I was most concerned about in working out daily is how do I handle the time? I work long days some times and finding time to do something for myself seemed daunting. I drew upon my experience in becoming a father. When you have a new little one in your life, you realize that you have time, make the time to make it all work. I used to laugh that I never knew how much time I had available before I became a Dad, and what the heck did I used to waste the time I had on!
So, with that in mind, I make the time, and it has made my life much better and hopefully longer…
