It’s a big question, how do you define friend?

Is it someone you grew up with, shared experiences with, went to school with or worked in the same company with?

Or is it someone who knows someone who knows you through another contact?

Is it someone you hang out with on occasion, talk to on the phone at least once in while?

Is it someone who just comments on your comments, and posts links to their latest game winnings, or prized imaginary digital cow ranch?

Maybe a new definition is needed, and quite possibly a new term for what friend used to really mean.  Plus it’s now not just a pronoun, but a verb…
