Addiction is a pretty serious issue. I’ve never thought of computers being addictive, just stupid. But in a recent search on the web, I’ve been surprised to find a whole lot of articles related to computer addiction.

And there are doctors who are focusing just on computer addiction, and universities that have programs to help students who find themselves sliding into the trap of digital nirvana.

I personally find it hard to believe that it could be that bad, but then again addiction is a very subjective thing. Especially for those who may have a tendency toward addictive behaviors.

Just to clarify my position. I have a LOT of computers. But I use them for work, and my family uses them for school, or their work endeavors. I get bored using computers easily these days. I couldn’t imagine me being addicted to computers, as much as a carpenter would be addicted to a hammer. In my sphere of existence, it’s a tool. And it’s taken years to get that way. Maybe when I was just starting in computers, I might have been overly attracted.. but that’s about it.

Here’s a short list of some of the sites and articles I’ve found using google. I hope you find them interesting and possibly informative.
